TRIPHENYLMETHANE DYES IN VOLTAMMETRIC ANALYSIS.

It has been summarized literature data about utilization of triphenylmethane dyes (TPD) in voltammetric analysis. The effect of pH, concentration, polarization voltage on the reduction of eighteen TPD and their complexes with some metal ions and organic compounds on the dropping mercury electrode has been analysed. The advantages and limitations of such approach are shown. The experimental results have proved that multistage reduction of TPD is associated with the peculiarities of their molecular structure, but not with the reduction of possible fillers, impurities or contamination of reagents. It has been shown a possibility of utilization of some TPD for polarographic determination of REE(III), Ga(III) and Au(III) with limit of quantitation n×10-6 M.
